Saturday 8th September - A friend who works in the trimming section of Aston Martin dropped by the night before offering us the chance to go to the Employee Open Day. The invitation from the Gaydon Factory was for an informal look around for their families and friends. It turned out to be an absolute delight; those on duty seemed sincerely pleased to see us and the informality was such that apart from some guiding barriers around the factory, we were able to wander at will, standing next to and being enthusiastically informed by the few people who were working and demonstrating, on what was normally their free weekend. It came across that they really enjoyed their surroundings and work.
I would like to thank and congratulate all those at Aston Martin for the whole concept, especially for making such a completely relaxed atmosphere, so much so that we felt as though we had been welcomed into and were visiting friends at their home.
